COVU OS Lite Messaging Terms
These terms govern SMS/text and related messaging sent through OS Lite. They are part of the OS Lite Terms of Service.
1. Who Is Sending
Messages sent through OS Lite to an agency's customers are sent by COVU on behalf of the agency: the agency is the program sender responsible for its customer relationships and consent; COVU provides the sending platform. Messages COVU sends to agency users about their own accounts (verification, security, service notices) are sent by COVU.
2. Message Types
- Transactional/service messages: policy service updates, renewal and document requests, secure links, account and security notices, and two-way service conversations a customer initiates or expects. These are sent under the consent the agency obtained for servicing its customers.
- Marketing messages: promotions, cross-sell, or campaigns. These require prior express written consent obtained separately from any service consent, are never a condition of purchase, and use a separate, optional, unchecked opt-in. OS Lite will not bundle marketing consent with terms acceptance or service sign-up.
3. Agency Consent Duties
The agency warrants that, for every recipient, it obtained valid consent for the message type sent and will retain proof of consent — the consent language presented, timestamp, phone number, scope, and source — and produce it on request. The agency must honor revocations received through any reasonable method and keep its customer lists current.
4. Opt-Out and Suppression
Recipients can reply STOP to opt out, START to re-subscribe, and HELP for help at any time. Opt-outs are honored promptly and enforced by suppression across the applicable sender and campaign; a service opt-out stops service texts and a marketing opt-out stops marketing texts, and OS Lite maintains the suppression records. COVU may also suppress numbers to comply with law or carrier requirements.
5. Disclosures
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent to receive messages is not a condition of purchasing any property, goods, or services.
6. Data Use
Mobile numbers and opt-in data collected for messaging are used only to send the messages described here and to maintain compliance records. Mobile opt-in data is not sold or shared with third parties for their own marketing.
7. Prohibited Uses
No content that is unlawful, deceptive, or abusive; no messages to numbers without required consent; no AI-generated voice calls or autodialed campaigns outside the consents and rules that apply to them. COVU may suspend messaging that creates legal or carrier risk.
